Wilton is not out of business.
It was bought by the swiss company, Walter Meier, that also bought Jet and Powermatic, in 2002.
The entire tool group, including Wilton was bought by New York investors Tenex in 2014.
So its currently an "american" company, although only some of their products are still made here.
The main Wilton products, which are mostly US made, are cast iron vises and clamps. I think they now make those in Illinois.

Most "Wilton" brand power tools were from the same factories as Jet.
Mostly Taiwan and China.
Some, but not all, Wilton parts would still be available from JPW, the current company.
Like all the Jet tools, the higher end Wiltons- that is, their top of the line, most expensive machines- are usually decent quality, while their cheaper ones may be ordinary chinese imports. I have a 1 1/2Hp Jet bench grinder that was made in Taiwan, its over 20 years old now, and still a champ. So depending on where and when it was made, it could be just fine, and last a long time.

The Wilton horizontal bandsaw I used was identical to other small
import saws(pretty crappy). Blade alignment was always a problem
and feed cylinder never worked right and rod finally broke.
A grinder is pretty simple though. Not much to go wrong. Bearings
should be a standard size, if they need to be replaced.

The parent of Jet is Tenex. Wilton, Jet, and Powermatic are all just divisions of the bigger corp. They have one corporate parts center for all three. For years, they sold basically the same tools badged as both Jet and Wilton, but lately they have backed the Wilton brand down to its original vise and clamp products.

Wilton, for many years, imported Arboga drill presses from Sweden- really good industrial machines.
Now, they only sell those under the Jet brand, not Wilton. Not all Jet drill presses are Arbogas, most are crappy chinese machines, but the top of the line gear head ones are from Sweden.

nope, Wilton has been continuously in business.

They never stopped making vises, clamps, and other cast iron products in the USA.

When the Swiss bought them, they badged some other products as Wilton, just as you can buy a Levis Jeep. Just as a Levis Jeep was not made by Levis, a "Wilton" bench grinder was never made by Wilton, in a US Wilton factory. They were imports.

The "original" Wilton is the part that still is in business. The part where they stuck stickers that said Wilton on Jet drill presses is the part they shut down.

Wilton vises are still the Gold Standard, and you pay accordingly.
