large MAPP gas tank?

MAPP is no longer made. There are substitutes, but they are not much better than propane.
Have you tried it with propane first?

I do not know of anyone that fills tanks with propylene (the substitute I've seen).
What that means, is you can exchange tanks, but not have them filled. If that's the case for you, you are limited to the type of tank that your supplier has. In my case, he stocks 7lb and 14lb tanks.
Both are aluminum, and are NOT BBQ tanks.

haven't tried propane, but I thought it would heat faster with the yellow Benzomatic stuff. I'll check tomorrow and if it's just as good, I'll go for propane and spare some ca$h :)

MAPP, proper, is no longer produced and hasn't been for several years. Propylene (propene) or a propylene/LPG blend is what is used now. Ask at a local welding supply.
