whats your favorite pair that will fit over your glasses? I usually just use one of my helmets but sometimes some goggles would be nice. so what is comfortable and fits over your normal glasses well?

If you try a shaded face shield, like a grinding shield but in shade 5, you will really like the field of vision, comfort, quick flip-up, and ease of using glasses.

There is a post somewhere here on WW that discussed it and had links.

Also, there is a video series on how to use a torch here of WW where the guy uses a face shield.

A search will turn up the information.

I've used Jacksons (since they are in stock locally at Airgas) and find them decent.

I'd buy from Amazon and avoid Fastenal. Fastenal are IMO directed at industrial "deep pockets" customers and I wouldn't buy from them even when I ran a toolroom because it's so easy to price-check using a computer.

I actually told the various nice Fastenal salespeople that I'd be fine with buying from them but their company prices would make me stupid for doing that.

Hypertherm offers an excellent face shield with flip down visor (choice of shade).

Think it's made for Hypertherm by Sandstrom. Might want to check it out.

Only thing I don't like with the shield is that the clear shield is fixed (not flip up), although the shaded lens flips down nicely. Particulary, if you wear glasses, this is a very comfortable shield.

Maybe it's just me, but is it really that bright for you guys? I can look at mine and it doesn't bother me. I've done it with tinted sun glasses, I also have goggles. Too dark with my welding helmet on . I need to find another way to cover my whole face, but in a pinch the goggles/glasses work for protecting my eyes, but not my whole face.

ya you need to protect your eyes for sure i know ill see spots if i try and do much without some protection. i usually use a ad helmet in grind mode.

anyone know ware the best price for the hypertherm shield that sundown is talking about is? i am definetly liking the looks of that for comfort and working around glasses.
