I remember my shop teacher in the course I just took (advanced SMAW - just as a refresher course) said something about the CSA numbering changing soon, adopting either a new system or an international system (???) Sorry can't remember, but your post just tweaked my memory.. Luckily my local store still has the AWS stamps on everything, but at work our mig wire was all CSA. Dunno why they need one system, if the AWS one works, and lots of material comes from there anyway, why not just use that... oh well.
