I have an old weldmate 75 by SIP. The rated max output is 75 amps and I bought some Hobart 6011 in 3/32. The box said 60-90 required amps. It is very difficult to hold an arc. The rod is constantly sticking and it pops and cuts out when it does start welding.

It runs 1/16 rod really well but 1/16th is 10$ for 1lb and 3/32 is 20$ for 5lb. So more than twice as expensive!

cric8192 - At the risk of pointing out the obvious, it would seem you already know it can't.

Split the difference and try some 5/64" 6013 rods. They top out around 60 amps or so.
