Ok so I've been in welding school for some time now and I often have to go directly from school to some other events or function or to my other job. Something I have noticed is the bad hat hair my cotton welding hat gives me. It's pretty good quality, basically denim, so it's durable and hasn't failed me (yet) but I get really frustrated with the friz in my hair when I take it off. My question is, can I use an old satin bonnet at home to line my welding cap to combat the friz? I use one to protect my hair when I sleep most every night so I know it's good for friz, but is there a downside to lining my cotton hat with a different fiber? I'm not fully sure that the satin isn't synthetic and and it would really suck if something bad happened and it melted to my scalp, but I'm pretty sure that would be the last of my worries if my head caught on fire. I know most people here are probably already bald (yes I've seen your pfps I know what demographic y'all are in) but somebody has to know something about lined welding clothing right?
