I think they also offered "soft side" doors at one time unless that was someone else.

 

I have one set that came with old machine looks like a upholstery shop made them they are two layers look kinda like a quilt small rod goes end to end through the hing pins
Will get a picture when I go to shop

I had a old parts machine that had these on so I put them on this one they sure help it warm up in the winter and make it a lot quieter

 

Are they necessary or can you run them without doors?

 

They aren’t necessary but old age tells me I like the sides covered especially in the winter if you have a heater on them it keeps them a little warmer so they start better
