One of the tips I read a while back was to run one size larger tip (std.030 size up to 035) etc., in your spoolgun when welding AL. I do this. Is this a good suggestion??
I don't seem to have any problems.............

There ain't no 'steel tips, nor AL tips' for Miller guns that are spooled or pushed 'n pulled. There are only bore diameters....

Well, I do have burn back once and a while. And listening to the size of tips on Miller guns, there tips are more than just .0005 over. So, I'm gonna try that increase and see if it stops all my burn back.

If you do not have a burnback function on your machine, sorry, burnback WILL happen. However, you are correct in upping bore diameter. I can set my Everlast 275P burnback setting so's the wire sticks in the puddle and has to be snapped off. I still use oversized tips because they don't gall.

Yeah, try using Al day-in-day-out and report back with Lincoln tips...
