Bought years ago a chinese " Infiniti CE cut 60 plasma cutter". now trying to use it. The manual says for this machine the Cut-60 it uses "3 phase AC220V " power. Does this mean I need a 3 phase power source or what. The power cord has only three wires in it a black, blue and brown. if 3 phase wouldn't it need another wire
Anyone have any ideas. I'll try to attach a few pictures View attachment PIC_0561.JPG View attachment PIC_0566.JPG H] View attachment PIC_0564.JPG View attachment PIC_0567.JPG View attachment PIC_0568.JPG

If it were 3 phase, it would(should) have
four wires,3 current carrying conductors
and a ground. No neutral. Not sure
what’s going on there. I would have
expected one of those wires to be green
or green/yellow for ground. I’m assuming
it’s single phase and one of those wires
is ground. You’ll need to look at what
the wires are connected to.

Unless ground connection is to be
made at that ground screw in the
pic. That would explain the claim of
three phase and no green wire.
Seems pretty hack though.
I would definitely track those three
wires inside the unit and see what’s
going on.

The sticker on the machine is not showing it as 3 phase.
2 places on it show single phase.
The top where the 1 AC is coming in and turning it to DC in the diagram.
Then bottom left side,
1-60hz

Black, blue and brown in the cable is Chinese BS. It should have a GREEN ground conductor in the supply cable. Guessing the blue may be the ground but no way to confirm except test and/or physically looking.

It is two hots and a ground conductor in that cable. Ring it out with ohm meter and see if one has zero resistance to the cabinet. Be sure though as the others could show a low reading also even with switch off in some cases but if switch is off likely be nothing on two of them and ground will be easy to identify.

Open and physically looking is another way to be sure you have the proper wire.

Thanks guys, I assume this is 1 phase 220v. I'm wiring it up to my plug (pic. attached) . Blue wire to ground on plug, Black wire to black wire marked location on the plug and the brown wire to the spot marked white on the plug............seem right to you folks.
Whatcha got there a 30 amp dryer cord cap ? Hard to tell from backside what the terminals are coming out. Dryer or welder outlet I recon.
They are single phase 240 volt. Your good plug it in.
