I have a miller bobcat 225 that generates power, was welding earlier and now stopped. I have 80-100v at capacitor, 40-150v at rectifier, and 40v at dc stabilizer. But 5v at leads. 110 and 220 work flawlessly.

40 DC volts at the stabilizer at weld speed ? If so check all your weld output connections. You should see open circuit voltage at the output sockets.
Open circuit voltage is listed on the front panel of the welder. I have seen slight corrosion or arc damage on the course current rotary switch cause problems, also look at your fine current control pot.

I did find that the rheostat head had broken off the arm. Ordering one today. Hoping that is the issue. I only paid 300 for the machine delivered. So I have some what of a repair budget.

I had a 225G Plus that had this problem. Under the 50 A outlet there is a reset switch with a rubber cover. I found if it was tripped it would not make welding power.
Yours may not have that since it is a straight 225.

The weld selector switch was bad. I changed it out and did 1 wire at a time. Now the switch arcs when I start it up. Does anyone have a layout I can make sure my wires are in the right place? 10, 27, 28, and 30 are hot when I touch them

You may have one or more shorted diodes in the output rectifier.

Got a unit SN?

Got it going. Started with a bad rheostat. Then the selector switch then 2 wires were too close after I installed the switch that it was grounding out. I appreciate all the help.

Good catch and good job getting to the bottom of the issue.

Thanks for reporting back on the fix.

Something to remember is every so often rotate the fine current pot from zero to max, most of there life is spent within a short range of sweep, and then can oxidize.
Its also a good idem to do the same with your range switch as well as AC-DC polarity switch for the same reasons.

I appreciate the advice. This is my first real welder genset. I always had company supplied welders. I came across this one for 300 and couldn't pass it up. I work on heavy equipment and just set off on my own business venture. So y alls help is priceless. I've also acquired an hf251d for free wheeling and dealing.

Awesome "deal" on the HF unit. Will work just fine with the Bobcat for aluminum TIG but with no remote amperage control it's a little tricky getting used to.
