I just bought a used Hypertherm powermax 1000 G3 Series. It had been checked out and says it needs 2 IGGT S Power board. Can these boards be repaired or does someone know where I could get a rebuilt one at a reasonable price?

Lets see, needs power pcb and both IGBT. Must have a burnt part just above the right IGBT and if you check the transistor on the heat sink above that, at the top of the pcb, you should find it shorted. seen a few with this problem. fixed when in warranty and whole machine got replaced when out. worked with Hypertherm rep on a trade in.
the right hand(PFC) IGBT is not just an IGBT there is more to it. The left one (inverter) IGBT is a standard IGBT block of two. Good luck finding anybody who will attempt to fix this power pcb, If not repaired right the IGBTs could fail again and damage the pcb and more.

Thanks. for the info. I did see one burnt part on the board, probably a transistor, but did not see any thing else bad but then I don't know what I'm looking for. Probably will end up selling for parts and look for another.

If the Powermax1000 appears in good condition and torch looks decent...it is worth $1500 to $1700. It is a great plasma cutter and better than most new ones in its power range today. You can download the service manual at www.hypertherm.com , click on downloads library at the top of the page. A new power board is in the $800 range.....and well worth it if the rest of the unit is good.
