For the generator wiring you can enlarge the schematics by holding down the ctrl button and pushing the + button repeatedly. Or simply have it printed on a sheet of paper. I use my local library & have them printed at 11"x14".

The library charges me .25 to print it much larger. Makes it a lot easier to read.

checked the coils (brown / blue wire) again today with a better meter. ohms read anywhere from 36 to 55. constantly going up / down. should it read a solid number?

Thanks. Another file for the 'sa200' thumb drive. Now figured out that the chewed into red/black wires went to exciter. Now my question is how does the exciter tie into main generator? Or do I have that misunderstood.

Also. In your pic kolot , 1-5 wires go to range switch?

 

correct, I believe A goes to the postive terminal, but the selector is linked to the negative terminal with a copper strap.
I think the exciter meets the generator at the rheostat.

 

alright.. making sense now.

what about the ohms between brown/blue wire? ranges from 36-55. does that mean faulty coils?
